About Us

G boutique is a concept developed by women, for women. G is a girlfriend thing! After talking to girlfriends about our frustrations at all of the sex stores being geared towards men, we decided to change the scene in Chicago. We were tired of going to 3 or 4 different stores to plan one evening of romance. We wanted to present beautiful lingerie and have erotica right there with it. We wanted a boutique where women were available to help us make choices and plan our romantic escapades. So in 2002 we created g, a place where you can feel comfortable shopping for fabulous lingerie, sex toys, books and dvds screened for female clientele, massage oils, lubes, whips, cuffs and more.

We built g for women. What we didn't realize was how much men would love our little store. We learned that men love to get a women's opinion when shopping for a surprise treat for their partner. We now have a loyal following of some of the greatest guys in Chicago.

After our first year, we decided to go live on the web so that we could offer our selection to more people. So come on in! About Our Staff

Cheryl
Born and raised in Chicago, Cheryl lived and worked in Bucktown for 15 years before opening g boutique. Here's how it happened: Cheryl and Kari wanted to write erotic fiction. After many brunches they got this crazy idea that Chicago wanted a boutique where women would feel comfortable buying everything they need for romance. Without a retail background, Cheryl called upon her theatre friends to help design a comfortable boutique where people would enjoy shopping. G boutique was always imagined as a place to build and support community. That was in 2002. Here we are now, thrilled to be helping people explore their intimate relationships in a safe, friendly environment.

Kari
Kari was born in Chicago and raised in LA. She moved back to Chicago after college and, thanks to her grandmother and Cheryl's mother, they became close friends. Fast forward through marriage, children and many glasses of wine, we get to the birth of g boutique. Kari spent lots of time in the store our first couple of years and then it was off to the burbs and her four children. Kari now lives in California with her family. She misses g boutique but does not miss Chicago winters.

Debra
Debra retired from teaching in East Texas and joined her sister Cheryl as co-owner of g boutique. Debra gives us the "Southern" point of view and keeps our store looking great. Her love of travel fits in perfectly with owning a business in another city. She is here as much as possible and loves to be out on the sales floor meeting our customers.

Amy
You may not see Amy but she is in the back making sure that all the wheels are rolling in the same direction at g boutique. Believe me, we know when she isn't here. Amy came to us directly from the University of Wisconsin and, in just a year, she has taken charge of our back office and streamlined our ordering and inventory systems. Want to meet Amy? Tara
Tara brings her artistic flair to the g boutique sales floor. Since joining the team, she has not only taken on her role as sales manager but has also enhanced our look in print with her graphic design talent. Performer, playwright, weaver and committed crafter, Tara is always surprising us with her new ideas.

Anna
Anna is a farmer, scientist, and toy expert at g boutique. Growing up in the city with "country"" on the mind, Anna and her boyfriend have finally moved to the farm. She grows organic veggies and takes care of her dogs, horses and goats on her days off. Anna's scientific nature drives her to find out every little detail about toys and bodies. After sweating through her first toy class, Anna has become our #1 teacher and trainer for workshops & toy talks. Have a question? Ask Anna.

Denise
Denise's joy and enthusiasm for g boutique is contagious. From burlesque instructor to sales associate to floral design, her poise and creativity has become her trademark. Dana has been sales associate, manager, designer, poet and teacher at g boutique. Off to pursue her career as an artist, Dana comes back to g to teach classes, style our pin-ups and host parties. Somebody needs to do the hard stuff and we have Jane. A perfect fit for g boutique, Jane not only keeps our books straight, she also adds creativity in marketing and display to the g mix. Coming to g from across the pond, Jane offers an international flair. Her lovely accent is wonderful on the phone.
